3. Short Showers

Take short showers, instead of long ones. Take a shower instead of a bath. When you shower run the shower, put on soap. Turn off the shower as you rub in the soap, then turn it on again to rinse. If you really like a bath, how about not having it quite so deep, or running it cooler to save hot water. Put a leaf on the tree if you already take short showers, or if you shorten the length of time you shower or if you have reduced the amount of water needed to bathe by sharing showers or baths. It may be more economical not to heat your water much at home, but to shower in the gym, at work or at school.  This depends on your lifestyle and schedule. It costs nothing to shorten the length of your shower. A bath takes about 30 gallons of water, a shower takes about 10 - 15 gallons and a short shower uses about 5 - 10 gallons in 2 - 4 minutes at 2.5 gallons per minute. Again, you may share a shower or bath.  Little children may like being in the bath together.
